IT facilities at partner universities have been significantly improved in this period through purchase of servers, computers, printers, beamers, projection screens, software packages... The benefits from newly established labs for applied mathematics and high performance computing are already present for professors, teaching assistants, graduate and doctoral students and other researchers. Some institutions got a part of the initially planned equipment either through a donation or from own resources. It created the opportunity to use TEMPUS funding for further upgrading of these facilities. These technicaly improved and upgraded labs are widely used in the upper levels of higher education process and in particular for conducting two Master and six PhD courses developed in the project.

A more detailed account of the equipment purchased per institution looks as follows:

  • University of Sarajevo obtained 1 server, 20 computers, 1 laptop, 1 printer, 2 projectors, 2 projection screens, 1 scanner, accompanying equipment (a switch, cables, presenters, etc) and licenses for software MATHEMATICA and access to MathSciNet. The equipment has been installed at a new Lab for Applied Mathematics at the Faculty of Natural Sciences and Mathematics.
  • University of Montenegro bought 1 server, 7 computers, 3 laptops, 1 notebook, 1 e-book reader, 3 printers, 2 photocopy machines. The equipment has been installed at the Faculty of Natural Sciences and Mathematics. 93 book titles from the area of mathematics, IT and applications have been procured for the Faculty Library.
  • University of Shkodra bought 5 laptops, 5 projectors, 2 projection screens, 2 photocopy machines, 4 cartridges for photocopy machines, 2 colour printers, 4 colour sets for printers, 1 digital copier, 1 camera, 2 external hard drivers, battery and inverter charger. 7 PCs were bought by University of Shkodra for Mathematics Department at the beginning of the Tempus project. Equipment has been installed at a new Computer laboratory of University of Shkoder. More than 120 books have been bought for the recently established Mathematics Department Library.
  • University of Banja Luka bought 1 server, 26 computers, 4 laptops, 1 photocopy machine with toner, 1 projector, 1 projection screen and accompanying equipment. The equipment has been installed in two classrooms (labs) at the Faculty of Natural Sciences and Mathematics.
  • University of Belgrade procured 4 servers, 3 high performance computers, 1 computer, 9 monitors, 2 scanners, 4 ups devices, 6 video beams, 6 projectors, 7 laptops, 2 printers, 1 MatLab software license, 5 wireless routers and accompanying equipment (cables, keyboards, mouse, storage devices, memory, etc). Kaspersky Anti-Virus license has been bought to protect computers, laptops and servers. The Faculty of Mathematics in Belgrade also got a donation in equipment in 2009, containing most of the items that were initially outlined in the project proposal. Equipment has been installed at premises of the Faculty of Mathematics. Two rooms are equipped as Computer Labs for Applied Mathematics and High-performance Computing.
  • University of Skopje bought 1 server, 10 computers, 2 laptops, 1 mini laptop, 1 laser colour printer, scanner, copier and 1 beamer. The equipment has been installed at the Institute of Mathematics, Faculty of Natural Sciences and Mathematics Computer Laboratory. The server, printer, beamer and one laptop have been installed at the Institute Library.
  • University of Tuzla purchased 4 servers and additional server equipment. The equipment has been installed in the University of Tuzla Computing Centre at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, as this is the only facility able to properly house and maintain the equipment.
