Introduction of structured doctoral studies being a recent development on European level, the project’s Workshop on PhD structure,  SEE Young Researchers’ Workshop, Workshop on Core Knowledges and Quality Assurance  and Workshop on harmonized PhD programs, besides their key role in the creation of SEE PhD curricula and syllabi and evaluation of current PhD students at WB universities served also as a training opportunity for a participants  on doctoral programs as the third Bologna cycle, its structure, design, teaching and advising requirements. The staff was selected by their home institutions, one or two representatives per institution for each workshop, depending upon the number of participants applied. The selected applicants were professors involved in PhD curricula development at their home institution. This choice of representatives also supports sustainability of the project.

The training of the participating WB staff on strengthening the master programmes from the standpoint of learning outcomes, through upgrade in content and teaching methodology, took place during the Workshop on Scientific and Labor market oriented goals. The staff taking part in the workshop was selected by their home institutions from the those in the graduate studies in applied mathematics.

The training of young IT experts from WB universities in the use of IT in mathematical modelling was conducted in Graz in September 2009. The experts participating in the course were selected by their home institutions to be persons responsible for maintenance of IT facilities upgraded at each WB university during the project and for training of other staff at partner universities in use of (upgraded) IT facilities in mathematical modelling.

This project being the first TEMPUS project in which University in which University of Sarajevo appears as the grant holding institution, work on its implementation has had training components for the administrative staff involved.
