The project YOU AND ME is divided into two parts, the first one lasting 2 years and the second 1-1½ years. The aim of Part I is to conduct investigations into lifestyles in the participating countries from many different perspectives. This enables students to choose from a large variety of school subjects in which to carry out their research. The first activity, which is a common task for all, is carried out in English. The rest are done in languages other than the students’ mother tongue.
In Part II students and teachers alike assess the language of the work against The Common European Framework of Reference for Languages. The methods used by students are peer and self-assessment. The purpose of teacher assessment is to analyse the assessment criteria for different attainment levels to ensure the criteria are interpreted in the same way in all participating countries.
The research results and end products are published and disseminated using different media, such as audio and video recordings and the web. Also live performances are arranged for larger audiences.
