Sotiris Kirginas is an Educational Consultant at the First Directorate of Education of Athens, former Head Teacher at the 4th Primary School of Metamorfosi Athens and teacher in various Primary Schools, as well as a researcher, analyst and scholar on Educational Technology and Digital Games for learning purposes. He  holds a Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from the Department of Primary Education, University of Athens, a master’s degree (MSc) in Information and Communication Technologies in Education from the Department of Early Childhood Education, National University of Athens and a doctorate (PhD) from the Faculty of Communication & Media Studies, National University of Athens. He currently teaches as adjunct lecturer at undergraduate level in the Faculty of Communication & Media Studies and ASPETE (School of Pedagogical and Technological Education) as well as at postgraduate level in the Department of Early Childhood Education and the Faculty of Communication & Media Studies of the University of Athens and the Hellenic Open University. He is a trainer of adults and teachers since 2007 until today in New Technologies, innovation in education. His research focuses on Educational Technology, Writing Educational Scenarios, Exploitation, Evaluation and Effective Implementation of Digital Games in education. He has (co)authored more than 30 publications in peer-reviewed conferences, journals and edited volumes, related to these fields.
