Police today are looking for a woman who a handbag in Jubilee Park last Monday. The thief was a woman of about 25 who was a jacket, jeans and black trainers.
Mrs. Beryl Hall of Shear Bank Road, Haslingdon, was walking through the park on her home from work. The weather was bad and it was hard. At about 5.40 in the evening Mrs. Hall heard a noise. Someone was following her.
"Before I turn round," Mrs. Hall said, "she pushed me to the ground. She then took my handbag and ran down the hill."
A man from Blackburn, George Adams, was walking his dog in the . When he saw the robbery, he to help Mrs. Hall.
Then he telephoned the . Mr. Adams told The News: "The thief was a young woman. She had a thin face and long black ". Mrs. Hall was not hurt but there was about €20 in her at the time of the robbery.
