Short Bio
Leonidas Akritidis was born in 1979, in Thessaloniki, Hellas. He graduated from the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Hellas, in 2003. He received his PhD from the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering of the University of Thessaly, Hellas, in 2013.

He currently conducts a post-doctoral research at the scientific fields of indexing, searching and ranking documents in the World Wide Web. Other research interests include social networks, knowledge & data engineering, and high-performing tasks over massive datasets in parallel and distributed systems.

He has authored several research articles published in international scientific journals, transactions and conferences. He has also developed and maintained a wide variety of scientific and industrial desktop and Web applications. His latest project is QuadSearch, a prototype metasearch engine with innovative features and novel ranking algorithms.
