  • JUG team seeks new Team Lead

    The Joomla User Group (JUG) team is a vital part of our community, ensuring that our passionate community members can connect with other people living near them and meet up in-person to share their love for Joomla!.

    The JUG Team is looking for a new Team Lead.

    The Role Description is: 

    • Organise and chair JUG team meetings

    • Communicate with CLT Liaison

    • Oversee JUG team public communications

    • Organise end-of-term reviews for JUG team members

    • Review listings escalated by the JUG team

    • Ensure updated terms of service and documentation for JUG directory

    • Overall responsibility for JUG team

    • Attendance at Joomla community events where possible

    Additionally, normal JUG Member responsibilities apply.  The JUG team lead will also be responsible for appointing and co-ordinating the assistant team lead roles.

    We have a pretty good team established now so a Team Lead that will be responsive to email, keep on top of new/updated listings and member enquiries will enable the JUG Team to be more involved with outreach and helping JUGs do more.  We're looking forward to hearing from you!

  • Thank You Jessica Dunbar!!

    On 30 December 2015, Jessica Dunbar announced her retirement from the Joomla Project. She has found a new opportunity with Concrete5 as a Technology Evangelist.
    Jessica, we wish you all the best and want to thank you for all those marvelous years.

    Years of hard work, laughter, fun, projects, good and positive things that you made happen, such as the marketing team, you’re contributions to several releases and PLT...
    We lose a great contributor to the project.
    But we thank you from the bottom of our heart and we'll miss you for sure.

  • Welcome Elisa, Lead Designer!

    We welcome Elisa Foltyn to the Marketing Working Group as Lead Designer.

    Elisa is 32 years old from Nuremberg in Germany. At the beginning of her work career she worked as a media designer (online and print) for one of the first German social media platforms.

    Later, in 2006, when she started to work at an advertising agency she had her first experiences with Joomla! and fell in love with it. In 2009 she graduated from her studies as a Marketing Communication Specialist and began her career as a self-employe "designbengel".

    Elisa was active in the relaunch of the joomla.de website and is well known as an SEBLOD evangelist and speaker at the recent JoomlaDays in Germany and Austria. Currently she is co-writing with David Jardin a (German language) Joomla! book which will be released in 2016.
