The
European Programme
Comenius which started on October 2008 and was completed on
June 2010 under the title: " 3DTheatre.
An
experiment of immersive education for classics" concerns cooperation of
three schools and in specific the 1st Lyceum of Rhodes, Liceo
scientifico statale Plinio seniore of Rome and Lycee Rene Grosse of
Clermont l' Herault in France.
The participants in this programme are three teachers and eleven pupils
from the 1st and 2nd class (as far as Greece is concerned). For the
first months (from December till June) we were seperated in five groups
and worked on the following
themes: a) The evolution of the building, b) Changes in drama, c) Poets
- Greek and Roman, d) Maks, costumes and scenery and e) The drama as
social event. We met on Sundays and we discussed and collected material
about our themes. We made this website uploading this information.
Another task was the learning of the Blender (Blender is a free open
source 3D content creation suite www.blender.org). For this purpose, we were taught the programme in six
(6) lessons and we moved to the recostruction of the
ancient theater of Lindos, something innovative that is
presented
for the first time and is the product of work of this team.
The
data about the theater were not adequate, so we had to go to the
theater
and measure dimensions
of the theater.
Also, we were based on the plan of Digve (the archeologist who
excavated the theater) to create the koilon and orchestra. We had no
elements for the scene.
The second year we studied the diffusion of the theme Medea in different kinds of art.
So we read and discussed the the three plays with the title Medea: by Euripides, Seneca and
Anouilh. We watched movies and saw paintings and we made and affiche
inspired by all these. You can see it here.
The names of the teachers are: Athanasopoulos Panagiotis, Hanlidou

We want especially to thank Stergios Vourdolis, teacher of Informatics,
who taught us the Blender and helped us to make the 3d reconsruction of
the theater.
