THE PYRAMIDS

This 3-hour lesson was done in the lab using the website:  http://www.ancientegypt.co.uk/pyramids (the site of the British Museum specially designed for on-line teaching). At the end of the three hours Ss themselves asked to read more about the Pyramids and write a project. They were given various websites to read and collect photographs. They were also given a lot of help, since the subject was quite difficult. The truth is that they were highly inspired so they managed it quite well. You can see their project in the Projects section.

AIMS:

To train Ss work with website pages, to read, understand and extract specific information out of an authentic written text (in fact simplified, since this website is constructed for teaching purposes), to come in contact with the famous sights of Egypt (the Pyramids , especially the Great Pyramid of Khufu, the Greek Cheops), to come in contact with the great civilization of Ancient Egyptians, to practise vocabulary related to ancient monuments and sights,  to write a paragraph.
