Title: East and West in Drama

Project: The project is in cooperation with a youth center, local immigrant youth and handicapped people and the aim to produce a theatre piece with different issues: racism, exclusion, and integration, and tolerance, acceptance. The group will also organize a youth festival for the final presentation with the playing of the theatre piece and different dance performances of youth groups at the festival.

Title: Paths of Life

Project: The volunteers will work together with the local youth and disadvantaged people from the ‘Lebenshilfe Mureck’ to make a hiking path with the theme‚ Geologie and it’s Use’, as well as renovating a part of the youth house. Several workshops; excursions and a concert have been planned. The camp will come to an end with the annual ‘Blaurackenfest’ in Straden, ‘Blauracken’ being a bird which is a protect species, and which visits this region of Austria during this time.

Title: Action in park

Project: The project will be to renovate a part of the “Augarten”, a famous public park located in the second district of Vienna. The volunteers will work five days a week, approximately six hours a day. Apart from the regular work, the volunteers can participate in different creative workshops (theatre-, painting-, and musical and recycling workshops). They will work together with local youth groups and local volunteers. Moreover, they will work with handicapped people. During the weekends, different activities will be planned to get to know the city of Vienna and a little bit of Austria.

Title: Planetary Orbits

Project: The volunteers will work together with the local youth and disadvantaged people from the ‘Lebenshilfe Feldbach’ to make a hiking path with the theme ‚Solar System’. The pathway will be constructed exactly to the scale of 1:1000000000 (one billionth) of the actual solar system. The path will lead one to the nine planets of the solar system. Several workshops; excursions and a festival with the local scout group have been planned.

PMi05 Salzburg Finstergrun 23/8-3/9 HIST/DISA 15
Title: Finstergruen ‘04

Project: The castle of Finstergruen is a youth hostel nowadays, located in the Southern Salzburg state, in the middle of the Alps. All volunteers live in the castle and also get their food from there. Task is EITHER, to build a footpath of some 100 meters, which leads up from the valley to the castle, parallel to the country road. The pathway will be lined with historical boards, which also have to be put. OR, to construct wooden steps which connect one of the old castle’s towers with the main house. - The programme includes free days with options to hike, visit an old mine, etc.
