Los Angeles 2028 Olympics Opens Tickets to the Public With Random Draw
Tickets registration for the Los Angeles 2028 Olympics Games is now officially open, offering sports fans worldwide a chance to attend one of the most anticipated global events.
Organizers have launched a random draw system for purchasing Olympics tickets, with prices starting at $28. The process applies to all sports events, and fans can register until March 18.
Participants must provide their name, email address and zip code to enter the draw. Those selected will receive an email in April with a specific time slot to buy tickets.
Although an earlier slot improves the chance of securing tickets, it does not guarantee availability. The first ticket sales window is scheduled for April 9 to 19, which will include access to both the opening and closing ceremonies.
Los Angeles Olympics tickets aim for broad access
About one million tickets will be sold at the lowest price point of $28. Organizers said that roughly one-third of all tickets will cost less than $100.
Residents of the Los Angeles area and Oklahoma City will also get access to an early ticket-buying window. Oklahoma will host some events, including canoeing and softball, alongside the main venues across Los Angeles and Southern California.

Casey Wasserman, chair of LA 2028, emphasized that the Games are designed to be inclusive and affordable. He said this approach reflects the idea that the Olympics should be accessible to everyone, not just a select few.
The announcement of affordable pricing comes after public backlash over the high cost of tickets for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, which will also be held in the United States, along with Canada and Mexico.
Ticket draw process and venue details
During a launch event at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum, LA28 organizers and hundreds of athletes gathered to mark the start of the ticket registration period.
The cauldron was ceremonially lit at the historic stadium, which hosted Olympic events in both 1932 and 1984. The Coliseum will again serve as a central venue in 2028, including for the opening ceremony and track and field competitions.
Allison Katz-Mayfield, chief commercial officer for LA28, explained that the random draw system was chosen to ensure fairness. She said everyone who registers has the same opportunity to purchase tickets, regardless of when they enter the draw, and that no one is given an advantage.
Tickets for the 2024 Paris Olympics began at $27.95, offering a point of comparison for the upcoming Games.
