The virtual environment

A number N (N=1 to 10) of identical but discrete particles with equal positive charges, are moving toward a fixed target producing a central electrostatic field. The target is located at the origin of the Laboratory Reference Frame. The user can select among three different targets: a) a point charge, b) a neutral atom and c) a negative ion.

The user controls, the values of the following parameters:
The particles' mass m, the numbere N of the particles, the initial velocity v₀ of the particles, the radius R of the neutral atom or the negative ion and the extreme values b_ext of the impact parameters.

Set each value by typing it in the corresponding box and then click "Enter".

In the data-table are recorded the measured by the program values of the impact parameters and the corresponding scattering angles when the particles hit on the circular screen.
By double-click on the virtual environment, the simulation is playing, by single-click it is pausing.
