Global Warming

Climate changes like global warming, is the result of human practices like the emission of greenhouse gases. Global warming leads to rising temperatures of the oceans and the earth?s surface, causing the melting of polar ice caps, rise in sea levels and also unnatural patterns of precipitation such as flash floods, excessive snow or desertification.

Many of the following impacts of the phenomenon are now well under way: fresh water marshlands, low-lying cities and islands are inundated with seawater, droughts and fires occur in many areas around the world3 while there is an increased likelihood of extreme events such as flooding, hurricanes etc. A significant melting of old glaciers has already been observed while animal populations have lost their habitat and have become extinct..Apart from that, a migration of diseases, such as malaria, has been noticed while plankton is being destroyed due to warming seas, leading to the loss of fish populations.
