Mountains - Oregon ventures abound! Oh whoa, a whale! I heard my partner exclaiming beyond your hotel room. A good thing I moved too, because I had never seen anything like that in my own entire life. I certainly never expected to be so happy on this jaunt we mountain folks from Montana had taken to the Oregon coast. There it had been, after I came from the hotel room, down the hall and around the building, to my amazement. As huge as life and to your c-omplete amazement, right off the rocky shore below the resort we were residing at in Seaside, Oregon, a pair of whales were working their way along with-in close view of the shore. To local people and to others that live across the countries shorelines that might not have been any huge deal. But to me, the youngsters and my spouse Evie, Ash and Rob, actually seeing a whale spouting - just blew us away! Star fish was found by the kids around the rocks under water, the most wonderful tiny multi-colored sea urchins, and an unending number of sea shells along the shore after the tide went. The crowning touch obviously were the whales, real spouting whales skating right out in the nearby waters. We remained because little part of heaven for just a few days, enjoying the region around Sea-side. We explored the near-by coastal gifts, marveling at the structures at Canon Beach, drinking in these amazing views out-to the water, and marveling at the roar of the waves on the rocks. Unbelievable items of a world of the type individuals from the Rocky Mountains never thought possible. The third day we gathered up our things, pulled the kids out of the pool, and continued our pursuit of the huts and yurts of the Pacific northwest. Within a brief stop-over at Beverly Beach we learned the amazing yurts of the Oregon Parks system, checking out a yurt they had set up for van rentals. That was definitely something for future reference on some get back trip to the area - a yurt on the Pacific coast - imagine that. Our trips eventually led us to depart the coastal regions and head inland to the far northeast corner of Oregon, backup into the Wallowa area of the state and the Wallowa Mountains.
