Chat V.I.P. - Manual

INTRODUCTION

Chat V.I.P – Visually Impaired People is an application for mobile phones and tablets that have an Android operating system. This is an application is a chat, specially designed to help visually impaired people to communicate with each other using mobile devices. It leverages technologies such as (Speech Recognition) for menu navigation and screen reading (Text to Speech) to read the latest chat messages.

Upon user entry into the application, the voice assistant prompts the user to say
his name. He/she is then greeted and the voice navigation menu is being heard.

PROPERTIES OF FUNCTIONS

If he says "1"
The user has the option to send a message to the chat voice, which is converted into text and listed (Speech Recognition).
If he says "2"
The voice assistant says the date, time, name, user who sent the last message and then the content of the message (Text to Speech).
If he says "3"
The voice assistant speaks the date, time, name, user and the content of the last three messages (Text to Speech).
If he says "4"
All messages are deleted from the list.
If he says "5"
The last message is deleted.
If he says "Exit"
A logout occurs.

The screen is divided into 2 parts (Image 1).
The messages are displayed at the top

These messages take the form of:

At the bottom of the screen is the microphone icon. Even
and if the user is blind, with his finger he can press on
bottom of the screen and activate the microphone.
If the user long-presses on the bottom of the screen
(microphone), the voice assistant is activated and heard
options menu.

Chat V.I.P was developed in the App Inventor development environment of Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and supported by Google, which makes the application easy to use, as it uses the microphone of Android, offering improvements in functionality and ensuring new features.

It is compatible with all android devices.

The application is Open Source and the code is available for study and customization by any user. Furthermore, with the proper instructions, there can be made necessary modifications to be used as a closed chat group by a
user group

HOW TO INSTALL CHAT V.I.P.

How to install Chat V.I.P. on your mobile device:
1. First you will download the application either via QR-Code Scanner, or from the link, by clicking the button above.
2. After downloading select install.
3. In case it shows "Apps cannot be installed from unknown sources", follow the steps below on your mobile.

- Open "Settings".
- Select "Menu" at the upper-right corner, then choose "Special access".
- Select "Install unknown apps".
- Choose the application you are installing the APK file from.
- Toggle the “Allow from this source” option to “On“.
