The Pyramids were used as tombs for Pharaohs and their queens. There are about eighty pyramids known today from ancient Egypt. The most well known of these Pyramids was built for the Pharaoh Khufu on the west bank of the river Nile. The architects of Khufu's Pyramid marked the outlines in the desert sand and started building the Pyramid. The workers of the Pyramid were slaves and farmers. It took them about 20 years to finish it. When they had almost finished, they put on the top of the Pyramid a shining metal. To make the outside of the Pyramid smooth, they used blocks of white limestone from quarries across the river Nile. Then they trimmed them to make the outside of the Pyramid smooth.

Outside the Pyramid there were: 1) a Mortuary temple, 2) a Satellite Pyramid, 3) a Causeway, 4) Boat pits, 5) three Queens' Pyramids, 6) Mastabas, 7) a valley temple. The Mortuary temple was next to the Pyramid. The Satellite Pyramid was built as a symbolic tomb for Khufu's ka (spirit). The Causeway was a long walkway that joined the valley temple and the mortuary temple. They buried boats in the boat pits which represented the "bark" that the Pharaoh would travel in after he died. The Queens' Pyramids were built on the eastern side of the Pyramid. The Valley temple was the starting point for the Pharaoh’s funeral.

Inside the Pyramid there were: 1) Champers above King's chamber, 2) the Underground chamber, 3) the Queen's chamber, 4) the Connecting passage, 5) the King's chamber, 6) the Ascending passage, 7) the Descending passage, 8) the Grand gallery, 9) Air shafts. The Underground chamber was left unfinished a) for religious reasons or it was originally meant to be the burial chamber of Khufu or it was built to fool tomb robbers and lead them away from the real burial chamber. The Queen’s chamber was meant to hold Khufu's funerary objects and not to be the burial chamber for a Queen. The Connecting passage was used by the workers to get out of the Pyramid after large blocks of stone were lowered to block the ascending passage. In King's chamber there is nothing today except for the granite sarcophagus in the corner. The Ascending passage is only about one meter wide and a little over one meter tall. The Descending passage is about twenty-nine meters long. The Grand gallery is almost nine meters tall. According to some experts the Airshafts were built to provide ventilation for the people who were working inside the Pyramid while it was being built. According to some experts they had a religious purpose because they are directed towards certain stars.

The pyramids were built in Egypt, Africa. The most popular pyramids are the Giza's pyramid. The pyramids were used as tombs for the pharaohs and their queens. All the pyramids were built on the west bank of the Nile. The most well-known pyramid is the Great pyramid. The architects who were working for the Great pyramid started building it by measuring and marking the outlines in the desert sand. It took them 20 years to finish it. On the top of the pyramid they put a shinning metal. Outside, there are: a mortuary temple, a satellite pyramid, a causeway, boat pits, a valley temple, mastabas and 3 queens' pyramids. Inside the pyramid there are: the descending passage, the ascending passage, the connecting passage, the Kings underground chamber. The underground chamber, Khufus chamber, was left unfinished for religious reasons. There are some airshafts that were built to provide ventilation. Unfortunately everything was stolen except for the granite sarcophagus.

In ancient Egypt the pyramids were used as tombs for pharaohs. Today the most well-known are three: Khufu's pyramid and the pyramids of his relatives. The phrase house of eternity means a tomb. The Egyptians built the pyramids on the west bank of the Nile that was only a desert. When the architects started to build Khufu's pyramid, they measured and marked the outlines of the pyramid in the desert sand. Most of the workers who worked to build this pyramid were farmers. It took them twenty years to finish it and on the top of it they put a special block which was covered in shining metal. Finally blocks of white limestone taken from quarries across the Nile were used to make the outside of the pyramid smooth.

Inside the pyramid there are ten parts. The airshafts, the grand gallery, the King's chamber, the ascending passage, the descending passage, the connecting passage, the Queen's chamber, the underground chamber and the chambers above the King's chamber. The air shafts were built to provide ventilation or they had a religious purpose. The north are directed towards the northern polar stars and the south towards the constellation of Orion. Khufu's pyramid was completely different from the other pyramids because it was very big and the inside was very different. Today Khufu's pyramid is empty.

In Egypt, there are several pyramids. These pyramids were built before thousands of years. The pyramids were used as tombs for the Pharaohs and their Queens. They were built on the west bank of the Nile. Firstly, they marked the outline in the desert sand. They used blocks of limestone which were trimmed to make the outside of the pyramids smooth. On the top of the pyramid, they put a metal that was a mixture of gold and silver. It took them about 20 years to finish Khufu's pyramid. The workers were slaves and farmers.

Today we know eighty pyramids and the most well known of these pyramids, was built for the Pharaoh Khufu.

Outside his pyramid there are a Mortuary temple, a Satellite pyramid, a Causeway, Boats pits, the Queens' pyramids, Mastabas and a Valley temple.

The Valley temple was the starting point for the pharaoh's funeral. The Mortuary temple was next to the pyramid. The Queens' pyramids were built on the eastern side of the pyramid. The Causeway was a long walkway that joined the Valley temple and the Mortuary temple. It had walls decorated with painted relief and a ceiling with painted stars. Some boats were buried in the Boats pits because the Pharaoh would travel in after he died. A Satellite pyramid was built as a symbolic tomb for Khufu's Ka. The nobles were buried in mastabas near their Pharaoh because they wanted to stay close to their pharaoh in the next life.

Inside the pyramid there are many corridors and rooms. These are: chambers above King's chamber, the underground chamber, a connecting passage, the Queen’s chamber, the King's chamber, the Ascending passage, the Descending passage, the Grand gallery and airshafts.

The underground chamber was left unfinished for religious reasons, or it was originally meant to be the burial chamber of Khufu, or it was built to fool tomb robbers and lead them away from the real burial chamber. The descending passage is twenty-nine meters tall. The ascending passage is one meter wide and a little over one metre tall. The connecting passage was used for the workers to get out of the pyramid after large blocks of stones were lowered to block the ascending passage. The Grand gallery is nine meters tall. It connects the ascending passage and the King's chamber. The Queen's chamber was meant to hold Khufu's funerary objects and not to be the burial chamber for a Queen. According to some experts the airshafts had a religious purpose because they are directed towards certain stars. The north pointing airshafts were directed towards the northern polar stars while the south ones where directed towards the constellation of Orion. According to some others they were built to provide ventilation for the people working inside the pyramids while it was being built. Khufu's chamber today is completely empty except for the granite sarcophagus in the corner.

The pyramids were used as tombs for the pharaohs and their queens. Today we know eighty pyramids. The most well-known in the "great pyramid"  khufu's (Cheop's) pyramid. The phrase "house of eternity" means grave. They were also built on the west bank of the Nile River. The architects measured and marked the outlines of the pyramid in the desert sand. The workers were farmers and slaves. It took them about twenty years to finish it. They put a block of shining metal on top of it. Also outside the pyramid they used blocks of white limestone. The "valley temple" was the starting point for the pharaoh's funeral. The mortuary temple was next to the great pyramid and it was used by the Egyptians to leave their offerings and daily rituals. The Queens’ pyramids were built on the eastern side of the pyramid. The causeway was a long walkway that joined the valley temple and the mortuary temple. The causeway had walls decorated with painted relief and perhaps a ceiling with painted stars. They buried boats in the boat pits, because, they believed the boats were the bark that the pharaoh would travel in when he died. They built a "satellite pyramid" as a symbolic tomb for Khufu's Ka. The nobles wanted to be buried near their pharaoh so they could stay close to their pharaoh in their next life. That's why there are so many mastabas.

The underground chamber was a room that was left unfinished for religious reasons or it was, originally meant to be the burial chamber of Khufu or it was built to fool tomb robbers and lead them away from the real burial chamber. The descending passage is about twenty metres long. The ascending passage is only about one metre wide and a little over one metre tall. They used the connecting passage to get out of the pyramid after large blocks of store were lowered to block the ascending passage. The grand gallery is almost nine metres tall. It connects they ascending passage and the king's chamber. The Queen's chamber was not meant to be the burial chamber for a queen but to hold khufu's funerary objects. According to some experts the airshafts were built to provide ventilation for the people working inside the pyramid while it was being built. According to some others they had a religious purpose because they are directed towards certain stairs. The north pointing airshafts were directed towards the northern polar stars while the south ones were directed towards the constellation of Orion. Khufu's chamber is now completely empty expect for the granite sarcophagus. Khufu's mummy and all of his funerary goods for the next life were probably taken out of the pyramid by ancient tomb robbers after Khufu was buried there.

The Pyramids in ancient Egypt were used as tombs for Pharaohs and queens.  Today we know eighty of them. The most well known Pyramid is Khufu's Pyramid. The Pyramids were built on the west bank of the Nile River. They started by marking the outlines in the desert sand. The workers were slaves and farmers. It took them 20 years to finish it. On the top of it they put a special block which was made of metal either gold or electrum. They used blocks of white limestone, which were trimmed to make the outside of the Pyramid smooth.

The funeral started at the valley temple. Outside the Pyramid there was a mortuary temple. It was where offerings were left. There were three Queens' Pyramids and were built on the eastern side of the Pyramid. There was a long walkway, the causeway that joined the valley temple and the mortuary temple. It had walls, decorated with painted relief and a ceiling with painted stars. They buried boats in the boat pits which represented the bark the Pharaoh would travel in after he died. They built a satellite pyramid as a symbolic tomb for Khufu's ka.

The inside of the Pyramid had an underground chamber which was left unfinished for religious reasons or it was originally meant to be the burial chamber of Khufu, or it was built to fool tomb robbers and lead them away from the burial chamber. The Grand Gallery was almost nine meters tall, connected the ascending passage and the King's chamber. Robbers had taken away Khufu's mummy and all his good before archaeologists entered the pyramid.
