This project aims to promote cooperation activities and the exchange of best educational practices between the regions of Galicia and Thessaly. It is coordinated by the Education Government of Galicia, the IES Campo de San Alberto school (Noia), the Commission of Education and Culture from Galician Parliament and a sports club. In Greece, it is promoted by the Directorate of Secondary Education of Magnesia, the 2nd General Lyceum of Nea Ionia of Volos, the Social and Cultural Council of the region of Thessaly (EKPOL) and the Physiolatric Club "PAN", Volos, Magnesia.
The association intends to improve the educational offer for school-age youth through: Making a reality the lifelong learning and mobility, to improve the quality and efficiency of education and training, promoting equity, social cohesion and active citizenship and enhancing creativity and innovation, including entrepreneurship, and to promote cooperation, the exchange of good practices and to reinforce the European dimension of education.
Bearing this in mind, we believe it is very important to achieve the following operational and measurable objectives:
a.To improve the quality of education, training and management of educational institutions, enriching educational opportunities for youth at risk of dropping out.
b.To promote the exchange and dissemination of good practices and pupils performance, the innovation and the European dimension in educational systems and teacher training.
c.To increase student motivation to reduce drop-outs, academic failure and to improve their overall academic performance, involving parents in the education of their children.
d.To reinforce the contribution of lifelong learning to social cohesion, active citizenship, intercultural dialogue, gender equality and personal fulfilment through multidisciplinary and creative pedagogical approaches.
e.To help young people to acquire the aptitudes and basic skills for everyday life, especially for the improvement of multilingualism, the knowledge of English language, the use of ICT and the spirit of initiative and enterprise.
f.To facilitate youth employability as well as their overall development that contributes to a better inclusion as active European citizens.
g.Enhance and disseminate the cultural heritage (tangible and intangible) of both regions.
h.Harnessing the free time to promote intergenerational learning and the access to culture.
