My name is Nikos, I am 12 years old and I live in Xanthi, a city of Greece.

This year, I took part in an ERASMUS student exchange program for the first time.

At the beginning, I participated because I like traveling. I like to know new places, their

history and their culture.

From the first contacts we had through the

program I understood that I will see not only

sights but also the daily life of the people of

this country.

My journey began with excitement and

concern, enthusiasm for the trip and worry

because I would visit a place I didn’t know

and was unknown to me.

When we arrived after a long journey I liked

the places and the landscapes I saw.

The next days, I saw and learned how their

schools work, I tried their cuisine which was very tasty, I learnt some of their customs, I

visited churches and I learned about the way they celebrate their Easter. I also met people

and made new friends.

It was a very nice experience and I would definitely do it again and recommend it to other

kids.
