PRO327 Regensburg 25.08.-11.09. Vols. 12

Work: In this camp you must have interest in working with (about 50) children (6-10 years old) - games, handicrafts; and a good knowledge of German ! The participants will work for two weeks (30.08.-03.09. and 06.09.-10.09.) - together with local members of staff - in the children-groups (8.30 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily/ weekends free). The group is also responsible for the daily lunch for the children during the time when the children will be there.

Accommodation: will be in a youth-centre (three big log cabins with several-bed- rooms, showers, kitchen and living-room. Breakfast, lunch and dinner have to be provided by the group themselves. There are many facilities for spending free-time, also a swimming pool is available in the area of the youth-centre.

Location: Regensburg (about 130 000 inhabitants) is located about 120 km north of Munich on the river Donau. It is an historical town going back to Roman times with many historical buildings and places of interest. The youth-centre is 10 km away from the town centre.

Terminal: train station Regensburg; next airport Munich.

Special requirements: Min. age 18/Important: Knowledge of German and interest in the work with children are necessary !!!

Work: The dunes are a natural and the most important protection against the sea. The participants will help to fasten the dunes and to repair damages caused by the sea. This means working at the beach. Work is physically a bit hard.

Accommodation: will be in the youth hostel with several-bed-rooms. Meals will be provided.

Location: The isle Juist is one of the East Frisian-Islands, 17 km long and just a few hundreds meters wide, and has 1600 inhabitants. It's located 7 km from the mainland.

Terminal: train station Norddeich/then by ferry to Juist (1,25 hours); next airport Hamburg.

 

 

323 Borkum 2 28/8-11/9 ENVI 15

Work: The dunes are a natural and the most important protection against the sea. The participants will help to fasten the dunes and to repair damages caused by the sea. This means working at the beach. Work is physically a bit hard.

Accommodation: will be in tents at the camping-site (there are buildings with showers, toilets, kitchen/dining-room). Cooking, cleaning, shopping etc. will be done by the volunteers themselves.

Location: The isle Borkum is situated in the east of the estuary of the river 'Ems', 25 km from the mainland. It is the most western and largest isle of the East Frisian-Islands and a famous seaside resort.

Terminal: train station Emden/than by ferry to Borkum (2 hours); next airport Hamburg.

 

 

324 Sieben Linden 4/9-18/9 ENVI 15

Work: Laying out a ”forest-garden”, helping building an ecological house (made of bale of straw). The camp will live in an eco-village, where people are living in an alternative and mostly independent way.

Accommodation: will be in tents at the area of the eco-village. Kitchen for preparing meals will be available.

Location: Sieben Linden is the name of the eco-village, a settlement which is located near to the village Poppau; next towns are Salzwedel and Braunschweig.

Terminal: train station Poppau; next airport Hamburg or Berlin.

Remarks: Min. Age 18; no meat, not many milk-products; be prepared to ”simple” conditions.

There will be three workshops offered: Communication with horses (in the meaning/method of Monty Roberts); Singing; Training of communication/interaction. In case volunteer would like to take part in one of these workshops, there will be an extra fee: 40,00 EUR.

 

 

365 Bad Langensalza 1/8-14/8 ENVI 25

Work: The group will work outside in a National Park. There are different ecological-/forest-work like laying out paths, making signs, cutting trees/bushes etc. The time of work is 6 hours daily except at weekends.

Accommodation: The group will live in a youth hostel with several-bed-rooms. The volunteers will help preparing the meals.

Location: Bad Langensalza is a town near to Gotha and Eisenach. The village where the camp will take place is named ‘Craula’, 15 km away from Bad Langensalza.

Terminal: train station Eisenach; next airport Frankfurt or Berlin.

Special Remark: Interest/experiences in ecological aspects are necessary.

 

 

366 Bogensee 29/8-19/9 ENVI 15

Work: The group will work at the area of an forestry and in the forest. There are different ecological-/forest-work like taking care of different biotops, cutting bushes, doing some renovation work in the surrounding of the main building, which is planned to be used as an ”International Youth-Forest-Home”. The time of work is 6 hours daily except at weekends.

Accommodation: The group will live in big house-tents and prepare the meals itself.

Location: Bogensee is just the name of the Forestry (several buildings, in the period of the former DDR it was used as a college for the youth-organisation ”FDJ”).

It’s part of the village ”Lanke”, which is part of Wandlitz, 20 km north-east of Berlin.

Terminal: train station Wandlitz; next airport Berlin.

 

 

325 Hüttchen 18/9-2/10 RENO 8

Work: The work consists in renovating a 700 years old picturesque farm (‘Kochshof’). The aim is to rebuild this farm into a ‘youth-farm’ - with facilities of/for traditional handicrafts and trades. Most of the work is done; so the farm is already habitable. The main work will consist in painting the main house (inside and outside), also doing some gardening. The group will work together with a traditional-youth-club named ‘Zugvogel deutscher Fahrtenbund e.V.’; some members of these organisation are living there and will work with the volunteers of the ‘pro international’-group. The time of work is 6 hours daily excluding weekends.

Accommodation: will be in the farm (beds are available). Cooking will be done by the staff; but also the members of the group can “try out” own recipes.

Location: Odenthal-Hüttchen is a small village - approx. 15 km north-east of Cologne. It’s also near to Leverkusen and Bergisch-Gladbach. The farm is in the forest.

Terminal: train station is Koeln (Cologne); next airport Koeln/Bonn

 

 

326 Tringenstein 5/9-19/9 RENO 16

Work: The work will be on the area of the camp-place (holiday-camp for youth and families). The work means painting log cabins, repairing wooden stairs, but doing also other renovation work upon needs.

The time of work is 6 hours daily excluding weekends.

Accommodation: will be in log-cabins with two-bedrooms. Cooking, shopping and cleaning will be done by the volunteers themselves.

Location: Tringenstein is a small village between Dillenburg and Bad Endbach – approx. 100 km north of Frankfurt. 

Terminal: train-station Dillenburg; next airport Frankfurt/Main or Frankfurt-Hahn.

 

 

328 Dillenburg 4/9-18/9 RENO 12

Work: The group will lay open (cut bushes etc.) ruins of an ancient building. The time of work is 6 hours daily except at weekends.

Accommodation: in a building.

Cooking, shopping and cleaning will be done by the volunteers themselves. 

Location: Dillenburg is a small town (about 19000 inhabitants) in Hessen, 100 km north of Frankfurt/Main, located at the river "Dill".

Terminal Train-station Dillenburg; next airport Frankfurt or Frankfurt-Hahn.

Work: Renovation of a day-nursery.

Accommodation: in the day-nursery; self-catering.

Location: Riesa is a town (famous for sports), 38.3000 inhabitants; between Leipzig and Dresden.

Terminal: train station Riesa; next airport Dresden or Leipzig or Berlin.

 

 

330 Eisenach 10/7-24/7 RENO 12

Work: The group will renovate a youth-club and the surrounding. The time of work is 6 hours except at weekends.

Accommodation: The camp will take place in the youth-club. Cooking, shopping and cleaning will be done by the volunteers themselves.

Location: Eisenach is a town at the edge of the 'Thueringer Wald'. The landmark of Eisenach is the ‘Wartburg’.

Work: In these camps, the participants are busy to do various manual works to prepare the area for the summer leisure activities or to clear up the places in the beginning and the end of the season (checking tents and materials, repairing log cabins, forest work, cleaning/clearing the place, etc.).

Accommodation will be in a small house with several-bed-rooms, kitchen, bathroom, in the area 'Stadtwald' (a youth-holiday camp).

Cooking, cleaning, shopping etc. will be done by the groups themselves.

Location: Marburg/Lahn is situated about 100 km north of Frankfurt and is a picturesque old university town with about 81.000 inhabitants (20.000 students).

Terminal: train station Marburg; next airport Frankfurt/Main or Frankfurt-Hahn.

 

 

346 MR-Marbach 5/9-25/9 RENO 10

Work: The group will renovate a house which belongs to the organisation named 'Naturfreunde Marburg e.V.'. The aim of this organisation is to protect the nature. The work will be outside, it means renovating paths, building wood-constructions, building hedges, planting. The time of work is 6 hours daily, excluding weekends.

Accommodation will be in this house (located in the forest) with several-bedrooms, kitchen, bathroom. Cooking, cleaning, shopping etc. will be done by the volunteers themselves.

Location: Marburg/Lahn is situated about 100 km north of Frankfurt and is a picturesque old university town with about 81.000 inhabitants (20.000 students). The camp-house is approx. 2 km away from the town centre.

Terminal: train station Marburg; next airport Frankfurt/Main or Frankfurt-Hahn.

SPECIAL REMARK: The camp-language in the summer-camp in Marburg-Marbach (PRO348) is not English, but German. Also the concept of these camps will help volunteers improving their German. 

 

 

344 Deetz 4 25/7-14/8 RENO 15

Work: The work will consist of rebuilding a former block of flats, a farmhouse and also the surroundings into an 'European Youth Farm'. That means working outside, for example to cultivate land, gardening, harvesting, doing some renovation upon needs. The time of work is 6 hours daily except Wednesdays and weekends.

Accommodation: in a barn nearby. Cooking, cleaning, shopping etc. will done by the volunteers themselves.

Location: Deetz is a small village with approx. 800 inhabitants in the Bundesland Sachsen-Anhalt; it is located 50 km south-east of Magdeburg. It is also not far away from Berlin.

The house where the group will live is situated very near to a lake. Swimming is possible. It is at the edge of a nature reserve.

Terminal: train station Deetz; within reach from Magdeburg or Berlin; next airport Berlin.

 

 

351 Erbach 1-RENO 12

Work: There is a lot of work; the first camp will start with replacing the 30-40 years old wall-papers, painting walls, taking away old stuff/furniture. Also creative work will be welcome.

The main work consists in renovation of the building (inside). Already in the previous years it has been a house for youth-events/groups/seminars.

Accommodation: will be in one of the main buildings, there are several sleeping rooms, and group will also have own kitchen for cooking.

Location: The camp is located at an former farm named "Petershof" (now it's turned into a hostel for groups and youth-activities) in Erbach, a small town, located between Frankfurt and Mannheim (50 km south of Frankfurt/Main), in the region named "Odenwald". It's still Hessen, at the border to Bavaria.

The "Petershof" is located 5 km from the center of the town.

380 Riesa 25/6-10/7 RENO 

Work: Doing some renovation work in- and outside of a day-nursery for children. Exact description of work will be defined later.

Accommodation: in tents nearby the Sportsclub. Cooking, shopping and cleaning will be done by the volunteers themselves.

Location: Riesa is a town (famous for sports), 38.3000 inhabitants; between Leipzig and Dresden.

Terminal: train station Riesa; next airport Dresden or Leipzig or Berlin.

 

 

381 Lelkendorf 24/7-7/8 RENO 10

Work: The group will renovate/rebuilt silos/halls for using them later for cultural events, exhibitions etc. It means pulling down walls, replacing floors, setting windows, grinding window-frames, painting, planting in the garden and surroundings, laying out an artificial lake.

Accommodation: in one of the silos (mats are available). Kitchen, toilets and showers are in a building nearby.

Location: Lelkendorf is a village near to Rostock. The camp is located near to a famous castle ("Schloss Lelkendorf).

Terminal: train station Rostock; next airport Berlin

 

 

360 Ehmkendorf 31/7-21/8 ART 16

Work: The group will help redeveloping the estate which was built in 1750. The aim of this project is to show people how was life on a estate in former times; it means something like an (open-air) museum. The work consists in different work outside in the park - like laying out pathes and building fences. The time of work is 6 hours daily except at weekends.

There will be a workshop during last week of the camp (every day) - together with professional artist. It means sculpturing (wood). 

Therefore there will be an extra fee: 40,00 EUR.

Accommodation: The group will live in the manor house. There are several-bed-rooms. Cooking, cleaning, shopping etc. will be done by the volunteers themselves.

Location: Ehmkendorf is a village in the very north of Germany, located near to Rostock; it is also not far away from Baltic.

Terminal: train station Rostock; within reach from Berlin or Cottbus; next airport Berlin.

Remark: Because of the workshop there is an (extra) fee: 40,00 EUR (to be paid upon arrival).

The maximum age for this camp is 23.

 

 

391 Finsterau (Bavaria) 31/5-12/6 Blues 10

Together with musicians/artists you will speak/discuss/play... about Blues and it's international meaning. 7 hours a day the group will play/hold rehearses; also performances are planned.

You have to be interested in Blues and play an instrument.

Accommodation will be in a cultural center. 

Location: Finsterau is located in the very east of Bavaria, at the border to Czek Republic and Austria.

Terminal: train station Passau; next airport Munich or Prague.

392 Breitenberg (Bavaria) 3/7-24/7 Theatre 10

Together with a cultural (art-) organisation you will create a play. You will learn different non-verbal modes of expressions.

Some (non-professional) experience in dramatic or performing arts is necessary.

Accommodation will be in a cultural center. 

Location: Breitenberg has 2300 inhabitants and is located in the very east of Bavaria, at the border to Czek Republic and Austria.

393 Breitenberg (Bavaria) 9/7-24/7 "Mobile Mural" 10

Together with artists from Germany and Indonesia the group will create a "Mural" - a big painting which will be presented later (at a vanishing). You will learn the technique of Mural-Painting and about its history and mythology.

Creativity and own experiences in art is necessary.

Accommodation will be in a cultural center.
