GREEK NATIONAL POLO TEAM

The Greece women's national water polo team represents Greece in international women's water polo competitions. Since the 2000s, Greece have emerged as one of the leading powers in the world, with their most precious achievements being the silver medals at the 2004 Summer Olympics and the 2010 European Championship, while they are the current gold medalists from the 2011 World Aquatics Championships.

Kiki Liosi

Kiki Liosi, was born on October 30 1979 in Athens. She has raced in Glyfada, with the team Olympiakos. The last five years is a member of the team Vouliagmeni. It is one of the most successful Greek water polo players. She is the head of the water polo national team of women. We reached the top of the world with her in the team ! NON-OLYMPIC HONORS: Fifth place in the world championship in 2005 and fifth in Europe in 2003. In 2004 she was a champion in Greece.

Stavroula Antonakou

 

 Antonakou

Stavroula Antonakou was born on May 1982. Stavroula Antonakou too loves the sea, like travel, good food, song and monitors when you can theatrical performances. At the age of twelve she started playing water polo. She began his career in the national for ten years and tooktranscription for Glyfada where he played two Olympic season after she went to where had two Olympic season. The National Women water polo team won the silver medal at the European Championships , adding yet another glorious page in the history of the sport.

Alexandra Asimaki

Alexandra Asimaki born 28 June 1988, is a female Greek water polo player currently playing as center forward for Nautical Club of Vouliagmeni and the Greek water polo team.

Asimaki was part of the Greek national team awarded the Gold Medal at the 14th FINA World Championship which took place in Shanghai in July 2011. Her appearances in this tournament led to be awarded as the best european and world female water polo player for the year 2011.
