A newly built village in the
fertile valley of "Da -vila" (Aheronta),
relocated here after the landslides in 1963 and
earthquake in 1965. It is 10 km east of Krestena and has 344 residents.
SIGHTS
FOUNDATIONS OF AN ANCIENT WALL of unknown age and archaeological
importance in the " Varikostasi" area.
ANCIENT RELICS in the area of «Samakia»,
from classical, Hellenistic and Roman times.
THE CAVES where the women and children of the village had
hidden to save themselves from the attack of
Imbrahim and the mania of his horde.
THE OLD VILLAGE with the basilic church of St. Dimitrios. It has a
crucial roof and was built in 1893.
THE ALPHEIOS RIVER with
its wild beauty.
WHAT YOU SHOULD KNOW
LOCAL CELEBRATIONS: The
fair in June (in honour of the Holy Trinity)
on the village square with folk groups and roast
pork.
SPORTS: There
is a football field in the centre of the village.
