Lyssarea is distant from Dimitsana Town,
about 30km (on
the
Zatuna' road).
A mountainous drive in bright - green wild
landscape,
joins us with Ancient Olympia.
Our beautiful village
is founded in fascinating
location, amphitheatrically
at the foot of the two
verdurous heights
named
Skularas
and
Ai - Lias
An afternoon - walk
round the impressive ravine of GURA,
in location named "Kapelli"(«Κάπελλη»),
offers you a nice view
far since the bright - green
slopes of "Erymanthos"
(the mount of plenitude of legends and
superabundance of myths)
The
imposing summits
of Chelmos mount,
all times are
snow - capped.
And in the West - Site, at the end
of skyline,
is stretched the Ionian open sea.
When
sky is fine without fog,
the
coasts of Zante island are faint seen.
The Goura's ravine,
colors the scenery of the east and north side of the
village
in a special way that will totally wake up the
traveler's sensations.
There is a large amount of
people that
vote for the exploitation of the village as
a tourist resort.
We
must also refer
to the village's club named
"Σύλλογος των Απανταχού Λυσσαρεωτών"
which
publishes the newspaper "GRIGRILIDI"
and makes serious
efforts for the village's upgrade
The people of the village also took part in the Greek
revolution(1821) by fighting
for their freedom and
generally for the freedom of their country
At first the host
was called - for unknown reasons- Bugiati.
At
1928 Bugiati was renamed as
Lyssarea
