Talking about emotions

This is a session I have prepared for my B class students at the Senior High School where I work. It was designed as a follow-up to a unit we had in the coursebook that dealt with feelings, emotions and expression. I chose a song by Birdy because some of my teenage pupils love her and I incorporated the video in a very creative way.
First we dealt with the vocabulary and then with the text ,which I adapted for the weak learners, and then we continued with the comprehension activities which were also differentiated in order to match all the students’ needs.
We watched the video and then they were given the picture of a person in the video. Taking the identity of that person, they wrote a diary entry inspired by the narration in the song. They were asked to describe feelings and be as creative as possible in their narration.
Very nice session, pleasant atmosphere and good response from the pupils!
